Monkstat House, Isle of Skye

Flora MacDonald visited this house after the boat journey from the North Uist in 1746. The boat, with Prince Charles aboard dressed as "Betty Burke", put ashore near the house. Prince Charles stayed on the coast waiting for assistance. He never entered the house. Click on a picture to increase its size.
